Hit Douglas Street this weekend for paella, pizza and a free Silent Disco for kids

This’ll get everyone out of the house.
Douglas Street is inviting locals of all ages to an entire day of free fun, fresh air and activities on Sunday, September 29th, 2019.
Organised by the lovely folk at the Douglas Street Business Association, AutumnFest 2019, a celebration of the vibrant and unique ‘village within a city’ that is Douglas Street, kicks off at noon, with loads of entertainment planned until 6pm.
With a strong coffee in hand, parents can chill on the sidelines while the kids watch circus street performers, acrobatics and comedy as well as live music with samba and brass bands, street games and a Kiddies Silent Disco.
Spend the day on Douglas Street
There’s also historical walking tours, a silversmith workshop tour and ‘Tell a Tale’ storytelling planned so children are likely to be enthralled for hours.
Nano Nagle Place will be open too so you can have a stroll around inside free of charge.
There’s no need to leave the area for lunch either; you can dig into a heaping bowl of hot Spanish paella, Miss Piggy’s roasted pig on a spit and pizza slices all day long.
The street will be closed to traffic at Summerhill South, Rutland Street, White Street and Dunbar Street between 9am and 6pm so the advice is to hop on a bus or park in a city multi-storey.
Who knows, you might even swing a pint in Fionn Barra, Coughlan’s or Nana’s on the way home.
