Here’s what Christmas Day is really like at Cork’s 5-star Castlemartyr Resort

You’ve probably daydreamed about it at some stage.
What would it be like to move into a five-star hotel for the Christmas holidays and leave all the decorating, planning, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and serving to someone else?
Cork’s luxe Castlemartyr Resort has given us all a taste of what guests actually get up to in there over the festive season.
The price for two adults over three nights from December 24th-27th, 2020? A cool €2,700.
Still, completely worth it in our book if you’ve got the spondulicks.
Here’s the plan for Christmas 2023:
Christmas Eve
Guests are greeted with a hot glass of mulled wine and freshly made mince pies on arrival. Once you’re unpacked, Christmas Eve commences with a cocktail reception whilst enjoying the festive carols sung by the local Castlemartyr choir.
Younger guests will be visited by Santa who will have a Christmas gift before everyone sits down to a delectable five-course meal in Canopy Restaurant created by Executive Head Chef Kevin Burke and his team.
After dinner, guests are welcomed to the festive Canopy Bar to carry on the party.
Christmas Day
You’ll wake up on Christmas morning and enjoy a full Irish breakfast, ideally followed by a brisk walk around the frosty grounds or a refreshing swim and sauna at the pool.
Celebrate the day with a sumptuous Christmas Day lunch, then relax in the luxurious surroundings of the Manor House, where you can enjoy a selection of classic Christmas movies for all ages, get competitive with a selection of board games, or enjoy drinks in The Knight’s Bar.
A delicious Christmas buffet supper is served later that evening to enjoy at your leisure.
St. Stephen’s Day
Enjoy a delicious Irish breakfast menu on St. Stephen’s morning before spending the day lounging around the grounds or relaxing in your room.
End the festive celebrations with a visit to Castemartyr’s local traditional pub, The Hunted Hog, for a night of revelry, with live music.
December 27th
Enjoy a hearty breakfast and one last Christmassy stroll before departing Castlemartyr Resort. Unless, of course, you’ve decided to hang on until New Years.
