Here’s how anyone eligible can get a walk-in booster shot in Cork this weekend

No appointment needed.
Walk-in booster shots are available at two locations in Cork over the weekend. Yesterday, Pfizer announced that a booster jab of its vaccine would be enough to fight off the new Omicron variant of Covid, about which little remains known regarding increased transmissibility, severity and potential “vaccine escape.”
Boosters are currently reserved for those between the ages of 50 and 69. The HSE also warns that “you must wait at least 5 months after your second vaccine dose before you can get your booster. If you had the single-dose Janssen vaccine, you must wait at least 3 months.”
Cork City Hall will offer boosters to those between the ages of 50 and 59 on;
- Friday 10 December, 11am to 5pm
- Saturday 11 December, 9am to 4pm
- Sunday 12 December, 9am to 4pm
Anyone over the age of 12 can also receive either their first or second shot of Pfizer on the following dates:
- Monday 13 December, 9am to 4pm
- Friday 17 December, 9am to 4pm
There is a more comprehensive range of dates for healthcare workers who wish to receive boosters without appointment. Healthcare workers are told by the HSE to bring ID and proof of employment.
- Saturday 11 December, 9am to 4pm- healthcare workers over 30 years old only
- Sunday 12 December, 9am to 4pm- healthcare workers over 30 years old only
- Monday 13 December, 9am to 4pm – healthcare workers under 30 years old only
- Tuesday 14 December, 9am to 4pm – healthcare workers over 30 years old only
- Wednesday 15 December, 9am to 4pm – healthcare workers over 30 years old only
- Thursday 16 December, 9am to 4pm – healthcare workers over 30 years old only

Booster jabs will also be offered at Bantry Primary Care Clinic:
- Saturday 11 December, 1pm to 4.30pm
- Sunday 12 December, 9am to 4.30pm
However, Bantry is not currently offering first and second doses as part of its walk-in service.
