Quarter Block Party is set to take over North and South Main streets this weekend, with more than 50 Irish and International artists appearing over 10 different venues in Cork city’s Old Quarter.
Weekend tickets are now sold out but you can still pick up individual tickets to most acts.
If planning your party route brings you out in stress hives, fear not; The Quarter Block Party crew have released this handy timetable to help you get your ducks in a row before you hit the town on Friday afternoon.
Music fans will be spoiled for choice with both established and rising stars of the Irish music scene playing across the weekend, including O Emperor, Tandem Felix, Percolator, David Kitt, Anna Mieke, Myles Manley and Alex Petcu.
Live art will colour the city’s historic spine with Nic Gareiss’ Solo Square Dance, HYPERFRUIT and Radio Mná; and the festival’s inclusive community event programme will present a range fascinating events Common Ground – a series of lunchtime talks, discussions with Cork Loves Music, The Point of Everything, and No Encore, and even a Radical Banner Making workshop (10:30am on Saturday at the Triskel.
Late night grooves will be provided by DJs Ben Bix, Dim The Lights, and Stevie G who will also be presenting a Vinyl Love event in SOMA café on Tuckey Street, while Irish comedian Alison Spittle brings her acclaimed show Worrier Princess to Cork on Friday too (an absolute must) and Sing Along Social (a zero-commitment choir designed for people who can’t really sing) is the perfect way to finish the weekend at BDSM on Sunday.
