Feeling a little out of shape?

Starting a fitness routine, however small, can be intimidating. Most of us make the mistake of setting lofty goals, realising they are unachievable in a week, then giving up.

When it comes to exercise, little and often is the key at the beginning and a new training programme hosted by Cork Sports Partnership could give you the pep-talk you need to go the distance.

Designed with beginners in mind, Couch to 5km Online 2021 is an eight-week training plan designed to take participants from “Couch to 5km” in two short months.

“The programme will cater for people that are new or beginners to jogging or running and is also open to those that are currently walking but perhaps would like to build up to jogging/running. If you are looking to get fit and healthy in a fun and supported way then this is for you!” say the organisers.

Participants will work with a qualified coach with workshops on various topics, including choosing the right gear, warming up and cooling down, stretching and building strength. A private Facebook group will also be available for group members who want to share their experiences and seek advice from fellow participants.

Couch to 5km Online 2021 starts on March 1st and limited places are available so visit corksports.ie for more information or email [email protected]
