Heading out for a mates date? 3 extra posh brunch takeaways to pick up in town

Remember those long, lazy weekend brunches?
Well, they might not be reopening our favourite brunch venues just yet, but that doesn’t mean the best meal of the week is entirely beyond our grasp.
With some decent weather on the way and the travel restrictions finally lifted, it’s a perfect time to plan that long-awaited mate date and bring along some luxurious treats to enjoy al fresco.
Here are three treats to pick up en route:
1. THE BRUNCH BOX AT DE CALF
Breakfast in bed? Picnic in the park? De Calf café in the Cornmarket Centre have packed everything you need for a slap-up brunch into this handy portable box.
Inside you’ll find a feast of fresh pastries, berries and cream, waffles, granola and yoghurt – complete with mimosas to wash it all down.
Send them a message on Facebook to preorder for collection, then pick a scenic spot in the park to kick back on a blanket and enjoy.

2. BANGIN’ BRUNCH CHIPS AT 50 CORNMARKET
We’ve never met a chip we didn’t like, but the 51 Cornmarket crew have managed to elevate the humble sliced spud into a truly special brunch dish.
Their Bangin’ Brunch Chips are served in a tub smothered with Cork butter hollandaise, topped with a free-range poached egg and sprinkled with maple bacon crumb for some decadent dunking.
They open Thursday to Saturday, 9am to 3pm.

3. BEACH COCKTAILS AT ARTHUR MAYNES
Off to the park? Pick up a little liquid sunshine to go on Pembroke Street; Arthur Maynes is mixing up Bahama Mamas, Aperol Spritz and Tequila Sunrise to take away.
They open seven days a week from 10am ’til 9pm.
