Happy Negroni Week – here’s where to get a tasty one in Cork

Now this is a cause we can fully support.
For one week every June, bar and restaurants all over the world mix Negronis for charity.
The classic cocktail is a blend of Campari, gin and sweet vermouth, served with a twist of orange, but one Cork bar is putting their own twist on the recipe for the week that’s in it.
Sneak through the unassuming little door next to Arthur Maynes on Pembroke Street, Cork and climb up to Upstairs, the hidden cocktail bar above, for a boozy treat that will scratch your Negroni itch.
Bar manager Kev (@epicurekev) has been experimenting with ingredients to create some wonderful takes on the traditional drink.
This one features Scapegrace Gin, yellow Chartreuse, Campari and Lillet Blanc…
Meanwhile, Beara Ocean Gin is the star of this blend, which also contains house cherry brandy and Lillet Rouge.
