This gorgeous new vegan café just opened in Cork

This will be a godsend to anyone who is struggling with Veganuary.
Vegans haven’t always had the best options for a munch on the move in Cork, but happily the plant-based food offering is improving by the day, with a brand new café opening its doors on the Grand Parade Boardwalk over the weekend.
Serving from the glass kiosk near Electric (you can’t miss it; the windows are freshly adorned with huge colourful leaves) Earth is a cool and cosy little spot with a mouthwatering menu of 100 percent plant-based goodies and comfort food.
That’s right; for perhaps the first time, anyone who follows a strict vegan diet will not have to double check the ingredients before chowing down.
As more and more people choose an animal-free diet for health, as well as ethical and environmental reasons, there’s more opportunity than ever to enjoy meat-free meals, even if you only eat vegan part of the time.
And if you thought vegans existed on salad leaves, think again; a steaming hot mug of Earth’s cashew milk or oat milk hot chocolate (€3) will set you straight. While you’re at it, sink your teeth into a pain au chocolat (€2.50), a fresh-from-the-oven scone or a cinnamon roll.
Bliss…
If it’s something savoury you’re craving, try a vegan sausage roll (€2, even dedicated carnivores agree they’re as tasty as the real thing) or a vegan hot dog (€4). We guarantee you’ll go back for a second.
Earth’s delicious Veggi Burgers come in two varieties; spinach and pumpkin or kale and quinoa (both €5) – they’re available from noon daily.
Suddenly the January diet isn’t looking so bleak.
