Good news for Cork as Met Éireann teases 20C sunshine after a dull start to the week

We’ll take whatever sunshine is going at this stage.
If a peek out the window has you running back to bed to huddle under the duvet, Met Éireann, those celestial weather oracles, have finally seen fit to bestow upon us a precious gift: there’s a (brief) spell of dry weather on the horizon.
While today, Tuesday, will see outbreaks of rain or drizzle in many parts of Munster, there will be occasional sunny intervals and highest temperatures will range from 17 to 20 degrees.
Things are looking a little better for Wednesday, which will bring a mix of cloud, sunny spells and well-scattered showers with the best of the sunshine in Munster and temperatures of up to 20 degrees.
While Thursday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, Friday will be “mostly dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells” with just a few light showers about and highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees.
According to Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather however, we probably shouldn’t get our hopes up too much:
“Weather models show bit of a break in rain after tomorrow for a few days, not totally dry but not much rain.” he tweeted.
“No real heat still though and very uncertain from Sunday afternoon onwards.”
