See ya later, summer salads.
Autumn is here and in Ballincollig, one café has a brand new menu designed to celebrate soul food as colder weather rolls in.
Good for the Soul has reopened after a re-fit, with a brand new breakfast, brunch and lunch menu.
It’s worth getting up early to order the GFTS Brioche Stack; French toast topped with bacon and maple syrup or blackberry compote, creme fraiche and house granola (on the brekkie menu until 11.45am).
If you’d rather the Saturday sleep-in, fear not; you can roll out of bed and hit Good for the Soul for Brunch Nachos until 3pm; their skillet of corn tortilla chips is topped with refried house beans, melted cheese, tomato salsa, fresh chilli and lime and comes complete with an organic fried egg.
Heaven.
At lunchtime, the Soul Hot Pot is served with garlic sourdough toast, or you can try the Banh Mi – slow-cooked pulled beef in a Vietnamese marinade, with mango and lime slaw, fresh coriander and horseradish mayo, served on a toasted Arbutus brioche bun.
Limited walk-ins are available so it’s always worth chancing your arm if you’re in the neighbourhood and you can always pick up a treat to take away if the café is busy.
Opening hours are Tuesday-Friday, 8am-4pm with an all day brunch on Saturday from 8.30am-4pm – hit Facebook for the full menu.
