It’s been a tough year for Cork singer Pat Fitz.
Like countless other entertainers, the Pope’s Road native had a busy gigging schedule wiped out by Covid-19, as pubs closed and weddings were canceled.
Now that things are finally looking up, however, the innovative Mr Fitz is ready to unveil a project he’s been working on during the pandemic; Ireland’s first vintage photo booth vehicle is road-ready and open for bookings.
“It’s basically a massive three-tonne, 34-year-old photo booth on wheels,” Pat told Yay Cork.
“We have a camera, computer, printer, and a big touchscreen set up inside, built into the wood interior. A huge group of people, more than any other conventional photo booth, can get in and have their photo taken and walk away with their set of prints.”
Ideal for an alfresco wedding reception, the photo booth could even save you some cash on your big day; the 1987 Chevrolet van doubles as transport for the couple or their bridal party. You can even add personalised number plates and prices start from €500 for a City Centre celebration, with package deals available.
Pat says the van is equipped with a massive silent generator and its own PA system too, so companies can hire it for events and use it as either a photo booth or a DJ booth.
“It’s also a fantastic project that is bringing myself, my brother and father, together,” says Pat.
Pat’s brother Kiel does a lot of the mechanical work and his dad has been enlisted as the driver.
“Since we’ve been out of work for so long I’m just trying to be there, better than ever, for when things get back to normal,” he added.
