Getting hitched? 5 perfect no-stress Cork spots for a laid-back wedding

There’s something for everyone.
Planning and organising a wedding is said to be one of the most stressful things you’ll ever do in life.
And while some couples are all about the big receptions, long guest lists, and lavish celebrations, others want to make their special day an intimate experience, surrounded by a cosy circle of family and friends, with the express intent of keeping stress to a minimum.
So if you’re on the lookout for a more laid-back setting to celebrate your nuptials, here are some of our favourite venues around the county that might strike your fancy:
1. The Tin Pub
We’ve already established that the Tin Pub has one of the most beautiful beer gardens in the county, but even better, they host weddings too.
The small bar’s iconic sloping lawns can support stunning tipis and large marquees, provided by wedding specialists TS events, that overlook the bay -making it a truly picturesque location for your wedding reception. To book your wedding here, contact the Tin Pub first to check availability for your preferred date.

4. The Fran Well
You may not have even realised that the Franciscan Well HAD a room upstairs for events. And you might even be surprised to know that the cosy space, dubbed the Monk room (how cute is that?), actually hosts numerous regular events, such as music nights, spoken word gatherings, and choirs from the local and wider community.
The venue is fitted with its own bar made completely from recycled wood, has booths and larger tables to accommodate groups of all sizes, and romantic lighting for a speakeasy-type atmosphere.
You can even hire your own private bartender for your reception and the space can host approximately 40 people. To contact the Franciscan Well and BrewPub click here.

5. Blairs Cove Restaurant
For a five-star experience without the fuss, Blairscove in Durrus offers a phenomenal opportunity to strike the right balance. The venue boasts a courtyard for drinks receptions, landscaped gardens with a backdrop of Dunmanus Bay, and a marquee or courtyard for an optional ceremony.
Weddings at Blairscove tend to be informal events “with an emphasis on good food and good times”. The restaurant itself has been in the family for three generations, nestled in a repurposed 300-year-old stable.
