Gardening fans will adore this charming cocktail dinner with writer Robert O’Byrne

Know someone who loves a cheeky garden tour?
Cork gardeners (and wannabe gardeners) are invited to a glorious evening celebrating some of the finest gardens in Ireland in Fermoy this summer.
Robert O’Byrne, also known as The Irish Aesthete, will present ‘Irish Country House Gardens’ at Ballyvolane House on Friday, June 30th, 2023.
In what promises to be a fascinating, fun, and memorable evening, the author and award-winning blogger will give a talk about The History of Irish Country House Gardens while guests enjoy a local tipple.
“The evening will kick-off at 7pm with a complimentary Bertha’s Revenge Rhubarb Martini on arrival, followed by the talk.” the Ballyvolane crew told us.
“Guests will then move through to the dining room for a three-course communal dinner hosted by Robert, Justin, and Jenny. The gardens here at Ballyvolane House will be stunning at that time of year and please feel free to come early and have a stroll around the gardens beforehand.”
There are also several stunning country house gardens in the locality such as Annes Grove, Lismore Castle, Tourin, Cappoquin House, Dromana, and Mount Congreve if you fancy making a weekend of it and staying over.
Tickets for the evening on Friday, June 30th, 2023 (7pm) are €25 for the cocktail and talk only or €75 for a cocktail, talk and a three-course dinner (excluding wines). To book, get in touch with them here.
