FYI: These 3 bakeries make the best cookies in Cork

If you’re gonna eat a cookie, make it a good one.
Too many calories are wasted on bland, dry, out-of-the-packet cookies – especially when Cork is home to some of the best small-batch bakeries in the country.
Why settle for anything less than melty, crumbly, chocolate-laden perfection?
Here’s our pick of the cookies to eat first:
1. CRUMB
These cookie artistes are well known for their thick, chunky bakes, available at Ballincollig Farmers Market on Wednesdays
and Douglas Farmers Market on Saturdays.
You can’t go wrong with their classic milk chocolate cookie dough, but if you see the Chunky Malteser or the Raspberry White Choc specials then make sure you buy an extra one to satisfy your inevitable craving later.
Another must-try is the Biscoff Spiced Cookie Dough, white chocolate chunks, and a Biscoff-stuffed centre…

2. GOOD FORTUNE COOKIES
You may have tried one at the Alpine Skate Trail pop-up over Christmas, but Good Fortune Cookies are best enjoyed by the boxful.
Each box costs €15 (including delivery) and contains six large cookies in three different flavours. Ours is the Everything Box – two double chocolate and sea salt cookies, two milk chocolate and two white chocolate and pistachio.
All orders placed before Wednesday night are delivered on Friday so get on it now (order here) to treat yourself or someone special this weekend.

3. YUMM CAFE
Petra Kriva’s outrageously good Yumm Café has put Kanturk on the map.
A treasure trove of mind-blowing confectionery, her cookies are something special indeed, a marvellous hybrid called a Brookie that is essentially a big hunk of cake stuffed inside a chocolate chip cookie.
Say no more.
You can also pick up Petra’s famous Terry’s Chocolate Orange cookies to enjoy with your takeaway coffee.
