Fota’s adorable little François langur monkey has finally been named

Oh hello, Tang!
Fot Wildlife Park’s adorable new arrival has officially been named, thanks to one young animal lover who made the winning suggestion in a competition to find the perfect moniker.
The endangered monkey was born on November 22nd to mother, Mei and dad, Shinobi.
The little family is now venturing outdoors together, with the youngster often visible through the viewing window of their purpose-built house in the Asian Sanctuary.

“Congratulations to Ellen Scheunemann from Carrigtwohill, who has won a Conservation Annual Pass to the Park.” the Fota crew announced on social media.
“Thanks to our Ranger Lacey for this photo.”
The name, which was suggested a number of times in Fota Wildlife Park’s public naming competition, is inspired by the colour tangerine, and the baby’s orange hue.
Interestingly, its coat is expected to transition from orange to black over the next few months, which is the natural development of François’ langur monkeys.
