FIRST LOOK: Kinsale’s Supper Club has had a tasty makeover

It’s one of the best new restaurants in the gourmet capital.
Now there’s another reason to check out The Supper Club: the eatery, which opened in March 2016, has moved into a brand new premises at No. 2 Main Street, with a glam interior to match its mouthwatering menu.
Tom and Grainne’s Kay’s informal restaurant and social club reopened over the weekend.
Starters include the Pot of Oysterhaven Mussels and Whole Baked Hummingbark Camembert served with crusty bread.
For the main event, there’s dishes like 24 Hour Beef Short Rib served with sautéed tenderstem broccoli, pickled cauliflower, parsnip puree, rosemary & sea salt potatoes (€18), a hefty burger with twice cooked chips (€17.50, pork belly and Coq au Vin (€18).
Vegetarians are well catered for too; the Mushroom Risotto (€16) is served with courgette and wild mushrooms, pecorino cheese and truffle oil.
If you have room for dessert the house Apple Tarte Tatin is cooked to order, offering the perfect opportunity to enjoy another cocktail from the lengthy menu – ours is a Scilly Walk (Beefeater, St Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Lillet Blanc, cucumber, mint, lemon and pressed apple juice.
There’s even a selection of liquid desserts, including a tantalising Lemon Meringue Pie (€10) with Absolut vodka, limoncello, lemon curd and meringue.
