Ready to try some flavours from Seoul?
If you’re a die-hard fan of Korean cuisine, a new delivery service will be right up your street.
Ogam Korean, the brainchild of South Korean native Jay Choi, is bringing authentic bulgogi, a cherished Korean dish featuring marinated beef perfect for grilling or stir-frying, to Leeside.
A step-by-step guide on cooking, along with recipes, is available for those on a culinary adventure and both the ingredients for the bulgogi sauce and the beef are sourced locally from around the Ballintemple area.
“I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for quite some time,” Jay told Yay Cork. “I’ve always thought that people in Cork have a great sense of trying something new. My family is used to this food regularly, and friendly encouragement from my friends convinced me to bring a taste of South Korea to Cork.”
Choosing to dive into the venture at the beginning of the year, Jay embraced the challenge with gusto. “It was tricky to try to get the right recipe initially, as it’s different from many of the bulgogi recipes in Korean restaurants. Through some great help, repeated testing, and feedback from friends and foodies, I managed to finalise one recipe.”

Orders are a breeze — place yours on Monday, and your bulgogi will be at your doorstep by Thursday. There is free delivery on orders exceeding €30 and Ogam Korean covers a broad delivery spectrum, including Ballintemple, Blackrock, Douglas, UCC, Bishopstown, and Rochestown.
While other tantalising Korean dishes like bibimbap, tteokbokki, and jjigae might be in the cards for the future, Jay is keeping the focus on the beefy star for now.
“Best to focus on getting a core product out there first before diversifying,” she laughed.
The bulgogi beef is available in three sizes — 350g (serves two for €13.95), 550g, and 850g and you can order here.
