Everything to know before venturing out to the Dragon of Shandon this Halloween

There’s nothing quite like it on Halloween night.
After darkness falls on Friday, October 31st, Cork Community Art Link will proudly present the 20th annual Dragon of Shandon Samhain Parade, kicking off at 7pm.
Spectators will witness the magical rise of a magnificent 36-foot dragon, meticulously crafted from tape as it emerges from the underworld to prowl the streets of Cork, accompanied by a lively entourage of skeletons, ghouls, and fantastical creatures.

On this magical evening, over 450 participants from 20 community groups will embark on a captivating journey between the realms of the living and the dead to honour the rich traditions of Samhain.
Collaborating with community organisations, such as Cope Foundation, Blackpool Community Access Program, Enable Ireland, Cork Simon, National Learning Network, and many more, this year’s event promises a dazzling showcase of stunning floats, imaginative costumes, eye-catching props, and mesmerising performances to breathe life into the beloved dragon.
