Escape the office and try networking while you exercise at lunchtime

Dedicated multitaskers will love this one.
If you’d love more time to network and you could do with registering a few extra steps on your Fitbit every week, an upcoming event offers a unique opportunity to kill two birds.
As part of Cork Local Enterprise Week, you can escape the office and meet fellow workers to ‘walk and talk’ as part of a new pilot initiative called Netwalking.
The 45-minute walk begins at 1pm on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020 outside Republic of Work on the South Mall.
Not only is that enough gentle exercise to burn about 200 calories, it’s also a unique chance to meet new business owners and entrepreneurs in the area and expand your contacts list in a fun, informal way.
Light refreshments will be served in Republic of Work on return so you won’t go back to work hungry.
Free events for budding entrepreneurs
A partnership between LEO Cork City, HSE and Republic of Work, Netwalking is just one of the free events planned as part of Local Enterprise Week on Leeside.
Aodán Enright of Smarter Egg will chat to entrepreneurs Kate Hyde of Glencove Group and Peter Coppinger of Teamwork about their successful business journeys at The White Horse in Ballincollig on March 3rd, 2020 (6pm).
If you’re eager to dip a toe into entrepreneurship yourself, former Olympic hurdler Derval O’Rourke is hosting a free Start Your Own Business workshop targeted at full time or part-time sportspeople on March 4th (5.30pm)
Taking place at The Atrium, Civic Offices, City Hall, Anglesea St., Derval will share insights from her own transition from elite athlete to digital health and wellness entrepreneur.
