Electric is bringing back its popular upstairs Fish Bar – but for one month only

Change is afoot on the South Mall.
But before a new owner takes the reigns at the neighbourhood’s buzzy bar and restaurant Electric, the venue’s founder Ernest Cantillon and his team are treating their regular customers to a little taste of the venue’s best bits from the past 12 years.
The Fish Bar will be taking bookings for four weeks starting at the end of September. The seafood spot will be serving up a fresh menu of locally caught fish, good wine, and great sides as a last hurrah.
Cantillon is selling the business and its riverside 6,000 sq ft premises for a cool €2.5m, having guided it through tough times and happier ones since 2011.
The well-known local publican, who also owns Sober Lane on Sullivan’s Quay, is looking forward to spending more time on his latest venture, Kinsale Spirits. The brand is eyeing opportunities in Nigeria, a key export market for Irish drinks.
“As we enter the home stretch of our time in Electric, we thought we would revisit some of our favourite menus and experiences from the past 13 years.” Cantillon posted on social media.
