Ehm Bridgerton Afternoon Tea is absolutely the *extra* day out we need right now

By Yay Cork April 23, 2024

Brought to you by The Imperial Hotel.

Season three is on the way in May.

And now fans of a fancier era can be the envy of the ‘ton’ and experience what it’s like to be the Season’s Diamond at Cork’s Imperial Hotel.

A new themed Bridgerton package inspired by the hit series of novels and TV show invites guests to enjoy a new package stay, complete with themed afternoon tea, a cocktail collection and a high society spa treatment.

With a longstanding tradition of hosting historical figures, famous authors and even royal guests, this whimsical new theme is more than fitting and, as usual, The Imperial team has gone all out to make it memorable for their lucky visitors.

On arrival at The Imperial Hotel, guests will feel like they have been transported to one of Lady Danbury’s elegant soirées with the impressive lobby looking resplendent with marble floors, sweeping staircases, a dramatic crystal chandelier and high vaulted ceiling overhead.

*swoon*

Catch up on the society gossip over afternoon tea

The ‘Seasons Diamond’ afternoon tea features sweet delights named after favourite characters and period elements from the Bridgerton series including: ‘Queens Diamond’ a champagne jelly, vanilla mascarpone mousse, strawberry compote, pink chiffon sponge, white chocolate case, ‘Whistledowns Tea’ a yuzu mousse, citrus cream and matcha sponge with a chocolate coin, ‘Danburys Dream’ a chocolate sablé biscuit, kirsch whipped ganache, black cherry jelly, chocolate crunch and chocolate sponge, and ‘The Beaux and the Bees’ lemon curd set on a Linzer cookie.

Take tea alongside a ‘Regency royal scone’ and tuck into savoury sandwiches including pulled chicken with golden raisins and tarragon on choux pastry, a Pastrami Reuben with wild rocket, Ballymaloe relish, pico de gallo and Gubbeen cheese.

Rounding off the savoury tier will be a market smoked salmon mousse garnished with black caviar, fresh dill and a classic cucumber sandwich with mint and cream cheese.

Signature sips

The Imperial Hotel proudly boasts a team of expert mixologists who revel in designing creative cocktails that look as good as they taste.

Inspired by the Seasons Diamond theme they have created three new signature sips that are a refreshing taste of summer: the ‘Martini Masquerade’ which combines Maharani Gin, elderflower liqueur, rhubarb, mint and rosemary syrup and lime juice, ‘The Scandal Sheet’, a combination of Belvedere Lemon & Basil Infused Vodka, lemon juice, muddled strawberries and cucumber, topped with elderflower tonic.

If you enjoy a non-alcoholic option, try the ‘Heirs and Graces’ which features Gordons 0.0 Gin, butterfly tea, elderflower cordial and lemon juice.

Book a ‘High Society’ spa treatment

You can opt to elevate your stay even further and include some relaxation and rejuvenation with the ‘High Society’ spa treatment package in Escape Spa at The Imperial Hotel. You’ll begin with 60 minutes in the Vitality Suite which features a hydrotherapy pool, aroma steam room and salt chamber. Then the expert therapists will apply a soothing skin-specific facial using rose facial oil and the ritual will be completed with an Elemis moisturiser with rose extract. Take your relaxation to the next level by including an optional warm oil back, neck and shoulder massage or an Indian head massage with bergamot to uplift your senses.

Afterwards, you’ll enjoy refreshments and unwind after treatments at the starlit relaxation room and emerge feeling like a pampered duke or duchess.

The Seasons Diamond Package starts from €153pp with the Seasons Diamond Afternoon tea priced from €45 per person. The High Society Spa treatment is €150 midweek or €160 weekend (Fri-Sun).

See imperialhotelcork.com for more details. Due to essential pre-booking 24 hours in advance for Afternoon Tea, this package cannot be booked online. For bookings email  reservations@imperialhotelcork.ie or call 021 4274040.
