Draw by candlelight at a one-day mindful art retreat

If you’ve been meaning to find an outlet for your creativity, an upcoming workshop could be just the thing.
Visual artists and educators Carol Healy and Cassandra Eustace regularly teach and give talks on the power of drawing as a tool to unlock the imagination.
On Saturday, December 1st, 2018 they’ll be hosting a day-long adults retreat in the peaceful grounds of Scala in Blackrock (facing Blackrock Castle).
This workshop is designed to give guests a space to “unlock their creative gifts and feel uplifted”.
“Throughout the morning we’ll guide you through our specially designed mindful drawing exercises.” Carol told Yay Cork.
“These exercises help to transport you into a more present and focused awareness, connecting you to your creative flow. You will learn why creativity matters and how essential it is today in this fast and busy world of ours.”
In the afternoon the group will get creative with their hands. Participants will learn how to make their own unique brushes from natural found materials.
“As a finale to the day, as the sun goes down we will draw with our brushes using ink by candle light in a serene and mindful exercise.” added Carol.
The cost of the retreat is €130, including all materials as well as tea, coffee and snacks during the day. Check out the event page here, email expressivedrawing@gmail.com for more information or text Carol on 086 101 30 67.
