Donate your unwanted Christmas pressies to this kids’ charity

Ready for a bit of a declutter?
Whether you’re clearing space in your wardrobe for new items or wondering what to do with unwanted gifts that have arrived in your house over the festive season, January is an excellent time to fill a bag for the charity shop.
With seven outlets across the country, including one on Cork’s North Main Street, Barnardos is assuring the public that all donations will be going to a very good home.
“As the cost of living crisis continues and significantly impacts the vulnerable children and families we support, we need your help more than ever,” said Bernadette Harrington, Barnardos shops manager.
“If you have received a gift that was too small, too big, or just not right, we will gladly find a home for it in our shop.”
Whether it’s a jumper a size too small, perfume you already have, or a book you’ve already read, it will be greatly welcomed by the staff. Every cent generated from a donated item will go towards the charity’s work with children and families across Ireland in 2023.
“The funds brought in from each donated item will go directly towards our work with just under 17,000 children and families in communities across the country, ensuring our work can continue to support those who need it. Because childhood lasts a lifetime,” added Harrington.
