Here’s a win/win for Cork athletes.
If you regularly run 15k-20k a week, a Cork-based nutrition research company wants to hear from you – and they’ll even pay you €900 for your time.
Atlantia Clinical Trials is investigating how an innovative new turmeric-based supplement called Turmipure GOLD can improve muscle pain and function recovery in moderately active adults.
Participants will need to take the natural supplement once a day for 10 days over a month, be available for two phone calls, and attend 10 visits to Atlantia’s state-of-the-art clinic in Blackpool or the Human Performance Lab at the Maradyke Sports Complex.
The study will include a full health screening of bloods and vitals, a V02 Max assessment to test oxygen uptake during exercise, and several downhill runs followed by exercises to assess muscle function.
“This study is ground-breaking as Atlantia’s initial findings suggest that a natural turmeric supplement, Turmipure GOLD, can improve muscle pain and function recovery in athletes,” said Trevor Woods, Exercise Physiologist from the Human Performance Laboratory at UCC.
“We’re now calling on athletes who are interested in boosting their performance and improving muscle recovery time to help us test the effectiveness of this natural supplement.”
