Coronavirus latest: 506 new cases (76 in Cork) and one further death

Tonight’s case numbers come as no surprise.
The Department of Health has confirmed that 506 further cases of coronavirus have been reported in the past 24 hours. One person has died from the disease.
A total of 59 cases have been identified as community transmission. 159 people are currently battling the virus in hospital, with 25 in ICU.
“All key indicators of the disease have deteriorated further in the three days since the last meeting of NPHET on Sunday 4 October.” said Dr. Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health.
“COVID-19 is spreading in our community in a very worrying manner. We have to break these chains of transmission.”
No countries on Ireland’s Green List
Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that, as of Monday, there will be no countries on Ireland’s travel Green List.
“The Green List was reviewed on the basis of ECDC data on Thursday 8 October. As no EU / EEA countries were below the required 14-day cumulative number of COVID-19 cases, there will be no countries on the Green List with effect from Monday 12 October.” the Department said in a statement.
The next review will take place on Thursday, October 15th, with any changes to take effect from Monday, October 19th.
