Cork’s newest Santa experience is set in a restored Victorian railway station

The location is steeped in history.
Now Cork kids can soak up the unique atmosphere inside the beautifully restored Victorian railway station at Cobh Heritage Centre when they step into the enchanting world of Cobh Santa Express, a brand-new Christmas adventure.
The new experience, a collaboration with the acclaimed Cork Puppetry Company—renowned for their work with Cork Opera House pantomimes and premium Santa experiences such as Cuskinny – is an immersive event that promises a magical journey through the sights, sounds, and the spirit of Christmas.

Inspired by The Polar Express book by Chris Van Allsburg, visitors will be given a special train ticket and greeted by a Victorian train driver on arrival. Once aboard the invisible train, passengers will be taken on a Christmas travel themed adventure by sea and land, where the charm of vintage train travel meets the wonder of the Christmas season.
The imaginary train journey will pass through various locations including the Enchanted Forest of Sounds and Magical Pine Trees before culminating with a visit to Santa’s Grotto and Santa Claus.
How do I book?
Beginning on Wednesday, December 3rd, Cobh Santa Express will run until Monday, December 22nd. Children’s tickets are €28.50, including a gift and craft session, with two free adult tickets per child. Pre-booking is recommended on the Cobh Heritage Centre website.
Located in the heart of Cobh, the Cobh Heritage Centre tells the story of the three million people who left Cobh and emigrated to countries all over the world including Australia, America, Canada, Barbados, and Jamaica. There is a special exhibition on the sinking of the Lusitania and on Annie Moore, the first emigrant to be processed at Ellis Island on 1 January 1892.
