Cork’s newest pub opens tonight – here’s a sneak peek inside

Making plans for a few scoops later?
Cork’s newest late night venue opens tonight at 33/34 Washington Street.
With three floors and two bars, Grand Central Social has replaced The Bailey and will open weekly from Wednesday to Sunday with live music and regular DJs until late.
The decor of the over-21s spot is a nod to the interior of New York City’s most famous meeting point – Grand Central Terminal.
The drinks menu will appeal to a multitude of tastes too, boasting over 20 draft taps, 10 different types of gin and the Grand Central Social extensive specialty cocktail list.
Nice.
And they’re just in time for the biggest party weekend of the year on Leeside.
A bunch of brilliant brass acts will join Paddy Casey and Karen Underwood at the venue during the upcoming Guinness Cork Jazz Festival
The bar is the sixth endeavour from the group behind success stories such as The Voodoo Rooms, An Bróg, BarBarossa, Barbarella and most recently, Alibi, which adjoins Grand Central Social on Washington Street.
