This is too cute.
Cork’s first miniature play town, complete with a school, garda station, theatre and pizzeria is opening at CastleWest Shopping Centre in Ballincollig just after Christmas.
Launching on December 30th, the pint-sized wonderland Piccolo Play Village will have 14 themed and immersive play areas that replicate everyday life for children in a way they can relate to and learn from.
Suitable for ages 0-8, the village will be open for 90-minute play sessions at 10am, 12 noon, 2pm and 4pm.

There is also a cosy café for adults, serving Three Fools Coffee and Ó Conaill Hot Chocolate along with a little play space for babies under one who are not quite ready to wander about the little village.
Behind this adorable initiative is North Cork’s Laura Carroll, who outlined that she set up the venture as she wanted to offer a fresh indoor play experience for children while taking care of the grown-ups with quality coffee and cake.
“My youngest son Mac is the inspiration behind Piccolo,” said Laura.
“Mac is a unique little boy on his own learning path in life and he has taught me that play is the language of all children. He engages with us each day with his love of role-play – mainly cars or building something in his case! And raising him has shown me that we must meet children in their world if we want to support them as they grow and develop.”
Laura added that they have focused particularly on allowing the props and setups to be what stimulates the kids’ curiosity and allows them to get lost in a world of excitement, learning, and play.
Tickets, available here, are priced at €14 per child, with non-walkers free alongside a fee-paying child. One adult accompanies one child for free, with additional adults at €3.
