Cork’s celestial enthusiasts can capture the cosmos at this free workshop

Get ready to snap the stars
If you’ve ever dreamt of turning your backyard into a galactic wonderland, there is a totally free workshop made just for you.
Buckle up for an evening of cosmic clicks as the Astrophotography for Amateurs workshop takes place on Monday, November 13th from 6.30pm at the National Space Centre, Elfordstown Earthstation, located near Midleton.
Award-winning astrophotographers, Sara Harvey and Keith Levins from the prestigious Astrophotography Club Ireland, will be guiding lights for this cosmic escapade.
There will be a basic introduction to the magical world of astrophotography along with a walk-through on the requirements for astrophotography and nightscape photography. And, weather permitting, there will be a live demonstration with the widefield nightscape rig.

The Cork Astronomy Club will also be there to assist in identifying constellations, planets, and other mesmerising features of the night sky using Stellarium astronomy software.
With Cork’s weather “a bit” unpredictable of late, the Stellarium portion of the evening will take place indoors as a demo if needed.
