Cork Weather: Muggy and wet today but the sunshine is set to return by midweek

It’s been a dull start to the week on Leeside.
But Met Éireann says the sunshine is set to return by Wednesday, if only for a short spell.
Today, Tuesday will be a “rather cloudy, muggy day, with rain, drizzle, and mist affecting many areas. Drier conditions will develop in the evening.” said a forecaster.
Highest temperatures will hover between 22 to 24 degrees, with moderate winds until nightfall, when rain will develop from the west and become widespread tonight with lowest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees.

By Wednesday however, the rain will clear with sunny spells and showers developing by lunchtime, although some of those showers will be heavy as they clear through.
“The afternoon will be mainly dry with some sunshine. Highest temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees in a light to moderate westerly breeze.” added the forecasters.
It will remain dry with clear spells on Wednesday night and Thursday will be mainly dry and sunny with fair weather, cloud, and isolated showers in the afternoon and highest temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees.
