CORK WEATHER: Mild and wet for the week but expect ‘some sunny breaks’ between showers

Hey, at least it’s getting milder.
After a soggy weekend, Met Éireann is predicting another week of heavy rain for Cork, although there will be some sunny spells to enjoy between deluges.
“For today, Monday, there will be a mix of showers and sunny spells.” said a forecaster.
“Some of the showers are expected to become heavy and possibly thundery, with a risk of spot flooding. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees, in a moderate south to southwest breeze.”
Showers will become isolated tonight with clear spells developing and lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees, however towards morning, a band of showers will edge in from the west.
How’s the rest of the week looking?
There will be sunny spells and showers on Tuesday, some heavy at times with the chance of thunder and highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees, and it’s much of the same for Wednesday, which will be a showery day with some heavy and possibly thundery downpours.
Right now, forecasters are predicting sunshine and showers once again on Thursday, but mainly dry weather with some sunshine is expected on Friday as winds ease light variable or calm.
It’ll be a little warmer too with highs of 15 to 18 degrees.
