Bring a cushion for a free meditation gathering in Fitzgerald’s Park

Feeling a little tetchy?
As stress and anxiety continue to rise in our fast-paced modern society, more and more people are turning to meditation to find peace and balance.
Meditation has been shown to have numerous benefits, including reducing stress, improving focus and concentration, and promoting a sense of calm and wellbeing. Whether you believe in it or not, at the very least it’s a lovely excuse to sit in silence in the great outdoors for half an hour.
If you’re looking for a way to de-stress without breaking the bank, you’re in luck: a free meditation event is happening at a green space near you.
Meditation in the Park, a free event guided by Buddhist nun Kelsang Drolma, takes place on Sunday, May 14th, 2023 from 11.30am – 12.10pm in Fitzgerald Park’s Band Stand Area on the Mardyke.
You don’t need any previous experience with meditation to participate, you’ll be guided through a series of exercises designed to help you chill out and focus your mind.
“We all need some time out to refresh, unwind, relax, and enjoy some mental space. Bring along a cushion, mat, or chair if you wish to be more comfortable.” say the organisers.
Fitzgerald Park is fully accessible for wheelchair users. You can book your free spot here.
