Cork Weather: Met Éireann says temperatures are ‘slightly on the cool side’ for July

It’s definitely been on the nippy side at night.
And now Met Éireann has confirmed what we suspected all along; this summer’s temperatures are “slightly on the cool side” for July… and we’re not looking for any marked improvement this week.
As another week grinds into gear, we can expect sunny spells and scattered showers today in Cork before more rain this evening with highs of 16 to 19 degrees.
Tonight will be wet with heavy rain at times, bringing a risk of spot flooding. Rain in the east will clear early on Tuesday morning, giving way to sunny spells and showers.

“Some of the showers will be heavy, with perhaps the odd rumble of thunder, but they’ll become isolated by evening.” said a forecaster, adding that highs of 18 to 20 degrees are expected.
The outlook for the week remains changeable and mixed with temperatures dropping a little more on Thursday and Friday to between 15C and 18C by day.
According to the long-range forecast, the weekend will be somewhat milder but with low pressure likely dominating bringing spells of rain and showers.
