However, rain will spread from the southwest early on tonight, falling as a mix of sleet and snow in places, with lowest temperatures of -3 to 0 degrees after dark.
After a soggy start on Saturday, with outbreaks of rain and sleet, the rain will clear to scattered showers through the afternoon and evening.
According to the national forecaster, “the rain’s clearance will bring some milder conditions, with afternoon highs of 9 to 11 degrees.”
Sunday, while wet and windy, will be “a much milder day” with highest daytime temperatures of up to 11 degrees in the south.
