Cork software company Teamwork raises $70 million in funding

Some amount of money for the Cork lads.
Cork-based software company Teamwork, whose campus in based in Blackpool Retail Park, has raised a staggering $70 million (€59 million) following a round of funding.
The company currently employs 270 people across five countries — numbers that we can surely now expect to increase. There are also plans for Teamwork to build an enormous new “spaceship”-style campus, like Apple’s in Cupertino… only in Cork.
Until now, money for the company had been raised by its own entrepreneurial founders, Peter Coppinger and Daniel Mackey, both of Cork. This latest, wildly successful round of raising capital was led by Bregal Milestone.
Peter Coppinger, Co-Founder and CEO of Teamwork, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to work with the fantastic team at Bregal Milestone to accelerate our growth and bring our strategic vision to fruition. As founders of an agency ourselves in a past life, we know exactly what our client services customers need from a project management solution to run a more profitable, organised, and efficient business”.
Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer Mackey said: “We’re incredibly thankful to all of our customers and to all the Teamwork employees who have helped us become the business we are today.
“We’re excited to use Bregal Milestone’s investment to fuel growth and innovation on our platform while remaining focused on creating the best possible experience for our customers.”
Business Wire describes Teamwork as providing “an intuitive SaaS platform for Client Services companies, helping them to track, manage, and invoice their projects as well as providing a full suite of tightly integrated solutions such as help-desk, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and customer relationship management add-ons.”
Founded in 2007, the company won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2018.
