Cork researchers are inviting older adults to try an all-natural brain booster

Misplaced your keys again?
If you suspect your memory is not as sharp as it used to be, a Cork-based nutrition company is offering confidential help to find out what’s going on… and they’ll even pay you €500 to take part in their latest research.
Based in Blackpool, Atlantia Clinical Trials signs up thousands of participants each year in Cork for a range of exciting human health studies, which all focus on finding natural approaches to health and disease prevention.
They are currently recruiting the final adults for their latest study, which is investigating if a turmeric supplement can help to maintain and/or improve cognitive function in healthy older people.
“Turmeric has been used for centuries as a traditional herbal medicine for its potential as an anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant product but its use is limited due to its low absorption when consumed orally,” they told us.
“The turmeric being investigated in this study has been shown to have much higher absorption than alternative products currently on the market, even at lower doses.
“Participants of this study will complete a series of cognitive function assessments to measure any changes in cognitive performance. It is hoped that those taking the turmeric supplement will see an overall slower decline in memory loss.”
How do I apply?
Successful applicants for this study will take part over a six-month period, taking the turmeric supplement daily, completing a few health questionnaires, and attending four visits to Atlantia’s clinic in Blackpool, across that period.
As is standard with all their studies, each volunteer is offered a free health check at their visit and a full blood test.
Each participant will receive €500 upon completion of the study in return for their time.
