Cork Pride: 3 parties you should definitely go to this year

By Yay Cork July 24, 2019July 24, 2019

This year’s Pride prep is in full swing.

The city’s biggest celebration of LGBT+ lives is always a helluva party, but this year it’s bigger than ever, with a 100-strong organising team staging 30 events across the city and beyond.

The full schedule for the week (July 27th-August 4th, 2019) is available here.

Here’s three parties to stick in the schedule now:

1. Family Fun in Fitzgerald’s Park

Sunday, July 28th, 2019, 12pm

With live music from Sparkle and WITLESS and a kiddie’s disco courtesy of the Corks RedFM 104-106 DJs expect a festival of kiddie’s entertainment including bouncy castles, giant board games, face painting and a Pride Market serving carnival food from 12pm.

Don’t miss the annual Scruffy Doo Dog Show, the Gay Olympics and the new Wellness Tent, where you can try Zumba, Yoga for Kids and mindful colouring. Free.

2. Mockie Ah: Cork Pride Vogue Ball at Dali

When: Thursday, August 1st, 2019, 10pm

Ireland’s biggest drag troupe ‘Mockie Ah’ return with their annual Vogue Ball at Dali on Carey’s Lane. Now in its third year, this Candy Warhol-hosted event is tipped to be the biggest and boldest ball yet with eight fierce categories to choose from, huge drag and dance performances and a host of judges, DJs and guest acts.

The categories are: Voguing, Executive Realness, Opulence (You Own Everything), Runway in Pumps, Femme Queen (Face Face Face), Up and Coming Queen, Bizarre (Drag Monster) and Northside Queen. Tickets €10.85 here.

3. Win, Lose or Drag Pride Brunch at Crawford & Co.

When: Saturday, August 3rd, 2pm-4pm

Two of The George’s top acts, Bunny and Phil T Gorgeous, bring their hilarious game show ‘Win, Lose or Drag’ to Crawford & Co. on Anglesea Street for one afternoon only this Pride Week.

Expect ridiculous games, drag shenanigans and spot prizes as you enjoy fancy eggs, chorizo, avocado smash and tomato salsa-smothered artisan toast. Bookings essential on info@crawfordandco.ie.
