Ryan Cody has been found “safe and well.”
There is great relief throughout Cork this morning as Ryan Cody was found safe at a New York City hospital.
Cody, a 23-year-old young man from Fermoy, had been missing in New York City since June 19th, and concerns had been raised for his welfare. According to his brother Anthony, when last seen, “he had seemed very disoriented and confused.”
“He lost his glasses and is virtually blind without them. He was complaining about dizzy spells and was put into an Uber by his roommate on Saturday. He got out of the cab and never entered the hospital. He was last seen at 8 pm outside Austin Public.”
Earlier this morning, Anthony posted an update on a GoFundMe page titled ‘Bring Ryan Home’ to say “We have found Ryan. he is with family friends now. He was in hospital and is a bit shook by all this. Thank you everyone for your donations. We will let ye know when we know more. Thanks everybody.”
On Facebook, Anthony described his brother as “safe and well.”
Ryan’s mother Noreen also posted an emotional celebration on Facebook, writing: “My son has been found , I cannot thank first and foremost Declan Morrison and Ryan Lowell, these two people have been my rock, I can never ever repay you for what ye have done.
“I have been off social media since Ryan went missing but they keep updating me, my neighbours, my town of Fermoy, Ireland, Fermoy guards, Dr Marty Moller, Interpol , NYPD, the world , the power off social media.
“Every person in New York that searched looking for him, I will never forget ye all, the happiest mammy person in the whole world, I can’t describe what these last few days have been like, no one should ever have to go through this , but I can tell you now how I feel, whoooop whoop whoop bring it on till I have him in my arms, his never getting outside the garden again.”
