Cork Glamour Ed Samantha Barry took us inside Elton John’s Oscars bash

It’s almost as good as an invitation.
Cork’s Samantha Barry looked sensational as she headed off to one of the best Oscars viewing parties in the world last night… and she took her Twitter fans with her.
The editor of Condé Nast title Glamour, who grew up in Ballincollig, wore a sweeping Marchesa gown to the 28th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation and shared images and video from inside the exclusive West Hollywood bash throughout the evening.

With make-up by Charlotte Tilbury, the Glamour editor accessorised the tiered royal blue Marchesa gown with a simple black belt and left her long auburn hair loose.
The night was extra special for host Elton John, who took home his second Oscar at this year’s ceremony. Having first won in 1994 for Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Elton and his lifelong writing partner Bernie Taupin scooped their first joint Oscar for Original Song for Rocketman.
Samantha captured the crowd’s reaction when the moment was shown on big screens at the viewing party:

Elton, who dedicated the awards to ‘my beautiful boys’, his sons Zachary and Elijah, later received a police escort from the Oscars to debut his shiny new award in front of his guests and host his annual charity auction.
Samantha posted photos of the night with famous faces including Elton John’s husband David Furnish and partied the night away with fellow Irish guest Nicola Coughlan of Derry Girls fame.
