You can join a reflective walk honouring ‘gamechanger’ Nano Nagle this Friday

She was some nun for one nun.
A week of celebrations will kick off today in honour of Nano Nagle, with several events planned in her memory at Nano Nagle Place on Douglas Street.

In case you’re unfamiliar with her story, the 18th-century pioneer started out with a secret school in a Cork slum.
Within a few years, she had grown her organisation to include seven schools for girls and boys and an almshouse for poor women and founded the Presentation Order, which went on to establish hundreds of schools all over the world.
This afternoon (Monday) from 3pm you can be inspired by Gregorian chant in the beautiful Goldie Chapel for Earth Day.
“Delight in Regina Coeli’s timeless chant and Ag Criost an Siol’s haunting melody intertwine, weaving a tapestry of divine inspiration that transcends mortal confines, guiding hearts toward the eternal realms of grace.” say the organisers.
“Arrive by 2:40pm for registration at the Nano Nagle Place Hub.”

Later in the week on Friday, April 26th you can join a Nano Nagle Anniversary Reflection Celebrating Light at 10.45am and take part in a reflective walk from the serene Nano Nagle Place gardens to her tomb.
The events are free and open to all with tea on offer afterwards in the new community hub
