Cork bar closes “with immediate effect” following staff Covid case

The responsible thing to do.
The Briar Rose Bar and Grill in Douglas has announced that it will close its doors “for a few days” following the detection of a Covid case amongst its staff.
In a statement on Facebook posted on Sunday, the bar management said: “Quick update folks, a positive test has been detected among staff so – we have taken the prudent decision to close our doors for a few days until given the all clear by the HSE.
“This decision is for the safety for all our staff and customers. We hope to be back soon and welcoming everyone back once it is safe to do so.”
The venue has been facilitating outdoor dining and indoor dining (for those who are eligible) since July 26th.
