Clonakilty’s adorable Bike Fest is back with loads of wholesome family fun

It’s going to be a wheelie good time.
Clonakilty is oiling the gears for its eleventh annual bike fest through the town’s iconic streets and with most events suitable for young and beginner cyclists, it’s the perfect activity for all the family in the run-up to the summer holidays.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, June 8th, with the annual Blessing of the Bikes ceremony and a lap of the town, followed by a live Jukebox and nibbles in the yard.
On Friday, June 9th, bring your binoculars for a Bird Watch Cycle at 7pm, with a family morning at Croppy Park with games and bikey-craic for kids on the Saturday.
A Pop-up Picnic Cycle follows, where participants will enjoy a leisurely afternoon cycle into the woods for a concert and picnic with food by chef Caitlin Ruth and music by members of the Vespertine Quintet. The day ends with The Big Bike Open Mic and Biku-Haiku competition, where participants can share their love of the humble bicycle in any format they choose.
