If you’re craving a bit of wiggle room in the attic or shed, it could be a good time to part with all those helmets, wetsuits, hurls and rackets your kids have long outgrown.
Now there’s a brilliant new initiative that will make sure your old sports equipment finds a good home.
The Big Sports Gear Swap takes place in Crosshaven Community Hall on Sunday, March 16th, inviting Cork families to pop in, browse what’s on offer and take home whatever they need – completely for free.

This event invites Cork families to breathe new life into their unused sports equipment while finding affordable gear for their own budding athletes.
Imagine the relief of a decluttered shed AND the joy of seeing your pre-loved gear back in action. At the Big Sports Gear Swap, you can browse a wide range of items and equip your kids for their next sporting adventure without breaking the bank.
To donate items in advance of the Swap, text Elaine Duggan on 087 7971667. Everything from jerseys and boots to balls and goals (in good condition) are accepted so it’s a great opportunity for a clear-out.
The Big Sports Gear Swap will run from 12pm to 2pm at Crosshaven Community Hall on Sunday, March 16th.
