Looking for an Easter treat you can drink?
This weekend you can toast the beginning of the end of another lockdown with a very grown-up Easter egg alternative; the Cask crew has gone all Willy Wonka for the occasion, whipping up a pair of chocolate cocktails to enjoy with their weekly food box menu.
“With the Easter weekend fast approaching we thought we’d inject a little chocolate into this weekend’s cocktail offering.” the award-winning bar shared on Facebook.
This weekend, vodka fans can treat themselves to a chocolate martini Kalak Single Malt Vodka, cacao and Martini Extra Dry (get your order in for collection here or book a Deliveroo slot).
“If Negronis fat washed with dark orange chocolate and made with premium gin from Rebel City Distillery are your thing we have a whopper available this weekend. We’ll even give you a dirty big chunk of ice so you can go full-on decadent.”
An ideal liquid dessert to enjoy after the Cask in a Box Easter special; lamb tagine.
Interestingly, the team headed for Cork’s own chocolate HQ for some advice and uncovered a fun local connection in the process:
“In Cork, if you need chocolate advice there’s nowhere to beat The Chocolate Shop in the English Market. Niall Daly was one of the market’s great characters and is still sadly missed. We were on the search for a super dark chocolate orange to infuse into Campari and his wife Rosemary kindly recommended Willie’s Cacao, Luscious Orange made with Cuban beans from Baracoa.
“Turns out, our Willy who is a bit of a chocolate celebrity in the UK between books and TV shows, only grew up in Cork!”
