Cancel your usual blow-dry – this Cork salon has a Japanese Head Spa

Feeling a bit tired and frazzled?
Usually, a solid solution is a hair appointment, isn’t it? A bit of a chop, a splash of colour, maybe some fancy balayage.
But hold the phone, ladies; one Cork salon has launched a self-care revolution with a range of relaxing treats you can enjoy during your appointment.
At The Factory in Douglas you can enjoy an Indian Head Massage, a Back Massage or settle in for a blissful session at their Japanese Head Spa, a luxurious and therapeutic experience designed to relieve stress, stimulate hair growth and enhance scalp health.
So what exactly does the Japanese Head Spa involve? First, an Indian head massage melts away tension, employing acupressure to release knots in the head, neck, and shoulders—a holistic prelude to deep relaxation.

Then, the rejuvenation begins at the basin: a micro-stimulating hair bath under the rainbow shower head gently scrubs away oils, awakening the scalp with a tingly freshness, followed by a detoxifying clay mask infused with rebuilding oils to unclog pores and encourage growth. The treatment culminates in a rebuilding mask that leaves strands impossibly silky and healthy.
The finale? A bespoke blow-dry.
“We recently introduced a few relaxing treatments to the salon as we felt it was just what our clients would love and need.” The Factory’s Claire O’Flynn told Yay Cork.
“Some of the treatments are designed for busy people ‘on the go’ who would love a little relaxation or downtime in the midst of their busy week but don’t necessarily have the time to dedicate time to a full spa day.”
Express sessions are also available if you’re super busy and the salon uses gorgeous organic Oway products that leave your hair gleaming. For more details, contact The Factory, 3 Church Street, Douglas.
