Looking for a way to pay it forward?
A Cork homelessness charity has appealed for new volunteers to join their team and help cook and distribute hot food and sandwiches to people sleeping rough in Cork.
Homeless Help and Support Cork is asking people to pitch in and join their hot food rota, with particular need on Tuesdays.
Volunteers cook and pre-package 20 or 30 hot meals and drop them to the group’s meeting point on St Patrick’s Street outside Ulster Bank at 8.30pm once a month.

If you can’t commit to a regular date every month, there’s still a way to lend a hand; once-off food donations are required on November 10th, November 17th and November 24th, December 8th, December 22nd and January 19th.
Sandwiches, cakes and treats are always needed too so all freshly prepared donations are much appreciated. To volunteer your time or to find out more, email [email protected]
Homeless Help and Support Cork also offer hygiene care packs and new underwear and socks as well as sleeping bags, tents, warm clothing, hats and gloves and the team co-ordinates groups to walk designated routes to check-in with those sleeping rough and those in need.
