Bring a dish and make new friends at this lovely long table lunch

A Cork gym is inviting new friends to join them for a pot luck lunch on Sunday, May 5th, 2019.
The Lón Mór (Big Lunch) get-together will take place at Aclaí, which is based in the Crawford Business Park on Bishop Street, right beside St Finbarr’s Cathedral.
The rules are simple; cook a dish of food of your choice (enough to share with a few others and, if possible, label the ingredients for people with food allergies), bring it up to ACLAÍ, and share with everyone else who attends.
Part of Streetfeast, which will see groups of neighbours all over the country getting together to share a meal this weekend, this is the fourth Lón Mór, originally inspired by a visit to the Basque Country, where people in villages and towns come together on a regular basis around a long table and cook for each other.
They say: “The idea behind Lón Mór is to get back to the basics of cooking simple food, sharing with friends and family, and enjoying the experience. This is a free event, so let us know in advance if you are coming so we know how many places to set at the table.”
The fun begins at 1pm and you can register your interest on Facebook here.
