Bring a blanket and snacks for this free family circus festival on Barrack Street

Here’s a bit of fun to see out the summer holidays.
Pack a blanket, grab some snacks, and get ready for a day of free family-friendly fun at Elizabeth Fort, just off Barrack Street in Cork City on Saturday, August 23rd.
The Circus Factory Cork and Pitch’d Circus and Street Arts Festival are teaming up on a day of pop-up performances and roaming characters that will surprise and delight at every turn from 11am.
“Bring your own picnic blanket or camping chairs, and in true Irish fashion, don’t forget an umbrella, rain jacket, and sun cream!” they told us.

“While no food will be sold on-site, guests are encouraged to pack snacks or a full picnic to enjoy throughout the day.”
From warring beach buffoons to wobbly waiters serving a generous side of slapstick, each act will be full of energy and fun. Keep an eye out for towering characters making their way through the crowd, or meet eccentric oldies who still know how to roll – and have a few tall tales to tell.
Tickets for the Circus Picnic are free, but need to be booked in advance due to capacity.
