Boosters vaccination appointments now open to everyone over 30

Great news.
The booster programme for Covid-19 vaccinations is now open to everyone over the age of 30. Additionally, anyone over the age of 16 who received the Janssen vaccine can now book an appointment to receive a Pfizer/BioNTech shot.
People in that second cohort will now be able to receive a booster either at their pharmacy or GP, and will be able to receive the booster in many vaccination clinics as of January 3rd.
The HSE has reminded the public that “to get a booster, you need to be in a group that is being vaccinated now (list above) and wait 3 months (at least 90 days) after your first round of COVID-19 vaccination.” If you meet those conditions, you can now book your shot online.
You can now get a booster dose if:
- aged 30 and older
- pregnant
- living in a nursing home or a long-term healthcare facility
- a healthcare worker
- aged 16 to 29 and have an underlying condition
- aged 16 to 29 and got the Janssen single-dose vaccine during their first round of COVID-19 vaccination
As part of the latest expansion of the vaccine programme, children between the ages of 5 and 11 are also now eligible to receive their first dose of the vaccine, if they are in a high risk category or live with somebody who is.
