They’re describing it as a “damn fine” evening of free entertainment.
And we couldn’t agree more with Cork County Council Library and Arts, which has just announced an intimate online event hosted by bestselling author Donal Ryan, happening later this month.
Fans of Ryan’s books, including From a Low & Quiet Sea, The Spinning Heart and 2020’s Eason Novel of the Year Strange Flowers, can drop in at 7.30pm on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021 for an exclusive reading and some good old-fashioned discussion.
Incredibly, Ryan’s first two novels, The Spinning Heart and The Thing About December, were rejected 47 times before being accepted for publication. The Spinning Heart was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2013, and his fourth novel, From A Low And Quiet Sea, was longlisted in 2018.
Whether you’ve read all of Ryan’s work or you’re looking for some reading list recommendations for the lockdown, it’s the perfect excuse to pour a glass of vino or pop the kettle on and settle in for an hour of bookish fun.
Join the inimitable bestselling author #DonalRyan for an intimate evening of live readings, discussion and damn fine, free, entertainment Wed 20th Jan, 19:30.
